After saying it seemed like everything was getting back to normal, the horrendous earthquake and biblical resulting tsunami hit Japan with such horrific results.
Apart from the appalling human consequences for those involved and affected, for me personally it brought back terrible memories of the 2004 tsunami off Thailand when my son was actually over there when it struck.
Not knowing if your loved one has survived is one of the most horrendous experiences but for me led to positive changes in my life. I wrote Full Circle as a result of that tsunami, it changed my life and became the title track of my first album.
It is so extraordinary how an event terrible or wonderful somewhere else in the world can inspire a tune, poem or painting that can in turn change your own life.
I can’t stop thinking about those poor people in Japan and their relatives.
Yes, cataclysmic. It must be the worst case in recorded history, (since Santorini anyway) with the highest numbers of people affected, then on top of that they get the nuclear problem too. Those pics of the relentless creeping of sea over land were shocking. Goodness knows how long it will take to recover. With the Haitian earrthquake and then the Queensland floods it seems the planet is not happy
